Ever since hearing Lovely Hula Hands and Sweet Leilani as a teenager some 40 years ago, I always wanted to be able to play Hawaiian songs on a steel guitar. Until recently, I was a part time E9th Pedal Steel and “straight G” dobro player. Recently a friend of mine gave me an old lap steel guitar. It must be at least 30 years old. I googled “lap steel guitar” and came upon a “Youtube” clip of Josh Cho playing “Beyond the Reef” on an Hawaiian Lap Steel Guitar. He played with such feeling and obvious emotional connection with the music, I searched for more of his work. After watching and listening to “Blue Hawaii” and “Harbour Lights”, I was hooked! I tuned the old lap steel to C6 and emailed Josh. [He] immediately responded and for the past 3 mths I have been learning and playing the songs. Now Josh has opened his new web site, and I have immediately ordered new songs. Josh Cho has a very unique way of teaching the Hawaiian lap steel guitar and I certainly would recommend Josh and his products to anyone who loves Hawaiian music .
